Yes have done many of the GM hydraulic lifter adjustments (zero lash), first time was on a 61 Corvair with a 64 engine. Unfortunately that car met it's death in a head on collision on the DC beltway. Before that it was a great car, fun to drive. But that was a while ago... (everyone survived the crash!)

SAGA : DanHaug I am honored and I may find a picture. I have two 109 inch wheelbase 3/4 ton Landrovers . (incredible machines)

Rent a movie called The gods must be crazy , there is a good Landrover part in there "Anti Crist " or something like it..

Absolutely outstanding piece of machinery. . One is a safari wagon the other is a Canvas top in back .. BUT how does 19 MPG Imp hit you ? .My rabbits gets 60-64 MPG Amerikan.

Imagine in 1960 $ 6000. EH ? very expensive..

British Columbia is perfect safari plase. Hungry Valley , Headless Valley and on and on. . Lots of Gold and Game. . I have a Deer Rack on wall downstairs . It came from coke country MAINE . sorry coke..

I had the most incredible time in Northern Maine. . Yes Memory Lane is open..

SAGA : joat . I knew a LOT of machinists in the "Ottawa Valley" Ont Kanada. , SO ? what company did your Dad work for ?

One of the funniest flying tales of my life ? came right from that valley .. Carp Airport I was to fly a Russ Bradley plane , when I got there in the morning .A young kid "Gass boy" was making it ready. . Russ says to me the engine has just been Majored and you will be the
First. . BUT ? Russ has to do a test flight and sign it out...More cups of coffee. , Then he comes back dead stick. .The prop fell off .

Then the Wife of the chief pilot shows up (big station wagon) to take him home for lunch..As they drive down the road , He yell's STOP back up Sure as heck there was the Prop in the ditch. . They took it back to the Airport . And I flew it all that afternoon..

Imagine EH ? prop falling from 1000 feet and still be OK ? ,.

SAGA : joat : "CDC Bells Corners" ? EH ? .If your Dad is still alive , ? tell him greetings from a fellow worker. (not a machinist) . That machine-shop was the finest I ever saw.. They did a LOT of precision machining.. (Aero-Space mostly)..

I had a good time there .
