1996 passat tdi
i need a new turbo oil return line for my 1996 passat tdi. my oil line is secured to the turbo with a 2 bolt flange, and goes into the engine with a banjo style connector. i can not find this line anywhere. anyone know where to get one or a simple retrofit? thanks in advance.

He needs the banjo one.
You might be able to use this adapter to attach the other type:

Hans has a cheap one of the other kind:

So I'm not finding any with the banjo end either.
Do you have a part number?
Why are you replacing it?
I've had good luck replacing the flex section with silicone heater hose.

Re: 1996 passat tdi
This is an updated part that replaces the original oil return line with the banjo fitting, which has been superceded. If your turbo still has the old-style return line with a banjo fitting at the engine block, you will also need to order the threaded union fititng N90837101 that screws into the engine block to replace the existing banjo fitting.
Re: 1996 passat tdi
I know it wasn't what he wanted but I posted because they had the updated with the fitting he needed in the description, as to give him an option. Hopefully it works out for him, one or the other.

Re: 1996 passat tdi
Thanks for clearing that up.
I saw the adapter while searching for one with a banjo.
But I wasn't sure the adapter I linked to would actually work with the other style oil return line.
Not sure the prothe return line I linked to is the right one either but pretty sure that has the right part number.
And it's a pretty expensive part everywhere else.

Re: 1996 passat tdi
Yeah, I had a hard time finding anything but I remember the site I linked as being quite popular among the TDI crowd, and since the part number for the "banjo" adapter is in the listing for the return line, I figured it was a safe bet either way, even though it complicates things by having to buy an adapter too.
