Radiator
My radiator is leaking from the welds on my 1986 Golf Diesel. I am wondering what the difference is between the $100 dollar radiator and the $175 dollar radiator. Can someone recommend if I should invest in the more expensive one or will the cheaper one do the same job?

speedometer gear
Bought a cable for $23 & the gear for $25. Pulled the cluster and it looks as if the end of the cable broke, the needle is much shorter than the new cable. Attempting to remove the drive gear but the nut holding it on to the transmission is rusted and will not budge. On top of that it seems to b...

Speedometer Drive Gear
Where is the speedometer drive gear located? My speedometer stopped working and I think it might be the cable or the the drive gear. Plan on replacing both since my speedometer was recently rebuilt.

door panels
I was just at Pull A Part yesterday and they had a 1986 Jetta with a tan interior. There were 3 good door panels , the front passenger's was broken but the driver's side and both rear looked pretty good, maybe abit of water damage on the bottom of the panels. e-mail me at Mitchweinman@aol.com if you...

Diesel Clock
I took the cluster out and wired the clock directly to the battery and it worked so I guess there was either no power to the clock wiring or a break in the circuit board. I soldered a wire to the back of the clock and wired it to my radio hot wire and soldered a wire to the ground wire to the back o...

A quarter turn and they pull out. I check the bulbs with an ohm meter before installing them. If I have conductivity from one side of the bulb to the other they are good to go.

Can not seem to find a bend or crack in the cicuit board. Wonder if it is one of the small diodes or relays on the back of the film strip. I called a repair shop and they wanted $100 to fix. Will drive it without the water temp guage for now. At least my clock works.

Replaced my clock with a donor that I new worked but it did not work in my cluster. I traded the circuit board film from the donor cluster onto mine and the clock is now working. Great except now my water temperature guage does not work. Switched out water temp guages and it still does not work. I g...
