Is it locked? If not, spray some brake cleaner in there and jiggle the level a bunch of times.

And you wouldn't even get a running 1.5 from this guy for $600! Doesn't Jack charge $2000 for a rebuilt and installed 1.6 w/o core? In any event, out here the engine and everything on it go for $200 at the socal j-yards I visit, but everyone I've contacted over craigslist/the tex wants way more. The...

You just have to read crash stats on what the safest cars are. Big wins out. If their were more small cars on the road that would maybe change slightly. I think safety correlates strongly with design as opposed to size. For instance, in this pdf SUVs are just as dangerous for the driver as most car...

Exactly. Larger vehicles are a wash safety wise, since they are safer in crashes against smaller vehicles, but more dangerous in solo crashes, so that only thing they really do in terms of overall safety is make the road more dangerous for everyone.

Hopefully it'll be out in 2010. But even then, it'll probably be a Europe only deal... :(

Big pick.

FWIW, as it wears the cable needs to be adjusted so that it'll grab higher and higher, until you have it as far as the cable will go and it still slips. Mine grabs right before the pedal is all the way up. Does that answer your question?

hagar, is there any way to increase injection duration besides injector breaking pressure. it seems like replacing the plunge assembly is the only thing besides messing w/ the injectors.

Oh shoot. Thanks for the correction you two! I just would like to spin the engine over to maybe 6750rpm with some other source of fuel after the high idle cut. It would be a poor man's power adder. W/o all the complication of a turbo system or risk of runaway on diesel. If your IP took 10000rpm from...

hagar, can a bosch VE IP stand spinning up to 14000rpm, in other words could it stand the engine spinning at 7000rpm? Not deliver fuel or anything like that, the high idle fuel cut would still be stock, but just take 14000rpm intact.

I'm going for battery problem, but it could be a short. The battery could still be strong enough to energize the solenoid and kinda sorta honk the horn even if it's near the end of it's life. Take off one of the battery cables and put a multimeter in line to measure for current use when it's off to ...
